Yesterday I experienced my first earthquake. I was outside with my grandma walking down some steps to the carport when I hear this crack BOOM! traveling up the hill. Suddenly everything started shaking and even the power lines were swaying. I grabbed my grandma and pulled her out from under the carport. ( I had no idea what to expect. I was imagining the earth would crack open and buildings would crumble)
I held onto her and we stood there for about 30 seconds or so until the ground stopped "rolling" (it's what they call the feeling of the aftershocks... it feels like trying to balance on a rocky boat while a bit drunk)
then we went inside. Sirens were going off, over-coms from the nearby schools were going off, LA became a bit chaotic... phones going off everywhere, etc. We watched the news while family members called the house to make sure my grandma was ok. She was all shook up so I made her some hot chamomile and we sat for about an hour and a half until we proceeded to run the errands we were originally out for.
I think everyone in this city went more nuts that the cell phones went crazy and stopped working than the fact that there was just an earthquake.

I'm in Los Angeles now. This was a pretty random trip, but I'll be here for 2 weeks.
The flight was ok. I am so exhausted. I was hassled by security hardcore cause I forgot that I had some exacto blades and a utility knife in my pencil bag. They made a huge deal about it, dumped all the contents of my backpack, x-rayed it about 6 times and called over a cop to screen my license number over it in front of everyone. It was pretty embarrassing. I should've looked before coming.
LA is smoggier than I remember it. It's been 2 years since I've been back. Seems more crowded as well- if that ever seemed possible.
I am hoping to hit up some art museums. I already ate at an In & Out (lunch) and the taco truck (dinner), so I am satisfied and ready to pass out. I've never had jet lag like this before. Oh how I love listening to the sirens of this city at night.
On another note, things are looking good with Little Wolf. We were able to spend a couple days together before I left, and things are not so much in limbo. She's up for experiencing new things and I love teaching her of new possibilities. She is beautiful.
I know, I know. I'm turning into those lesbians I hate... but when I fall, I fall hard, and I have fallen. What crazy things sex and a sweet girl will do to you...
